I've always found enjoyment when viewing Haida styled artworks.  In fact, several of my earliest paintings were pointedly inspired by this style.  Since it has been many years since I've had this inspiration influence my art creations, I decided that it was time to delve into this world, once again.

The sun was inspired by a Haida painting depicting the moon... I just removed the face and changed the colours to symbolize the sun.  I really liked the way the circles became smaller and bounced from side to side and so I used these concepts while rendering my sun.

The bird was inspired by a memory of another Haida painting.  I like creating images based on memories of images that I see as I feel that I'm not copying them... but recreating them in a new way.

Birds, usually inspire my mind towards thoughts of freedom and I feel that this simple painting will allow viewers to embrace the peace that freedom brings.
